Terms of Use

Welcome to Fotomeal. By downloading or using the Fotomeal app (“the app”, “the service”), you accept these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. Service description
Fotomeal is a mobile calorie-tracking app that notably lets you:
- estimate a meal’s nutrition from a photo (AI photo scan — premium feature);
- scan barcodes of packaged food products;
- add foods manually;
- keep a food journal and a history.
2. Account
Basic use does not require creating an account (anonymous session). You can create an account with an email address to keep your data across devices. You are responsible for the confidentiality of your credentials.
3. Premium subscription
- The AI photo scan feature is reserved for the Premium subscription.
- Price: €39/year, preceded by a 7-day free trial.
- The subscription auto-renews: it renews at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 h before the renewal date.
- Management and cancellation are done from your Google Play account (Subscriptions). The free trial must be cancelled before it ends to avoid any charge.
- Billing is handled by Google Play / RevenueCat; Fotomeal has no access to your payment method. Refunds are governed by Google Play’s policy.
4. Nutritional estimates — important disclaimer
The displayed values (calories, macronutrients) are indicative estimates, produced by an AI and by public food databases (Open Food Facts, USDA). They carry a margin of error, and a confidence score is shown where relevant.
This information does not constitute medical, dietary or nutritional advice. It does not replace consulting a healthcare professional. Do not use it to make medical decisions. For any question about health, allergies or diet, consult a qualified professional.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the app for unlawful purposes;
- attempt to access the systems without authorization, disrupt them, or reverse-engineer them;
- automate or overload the service in an abusive manner.
6. Intellectual property
The app, its brand, its logo, its design and its content are the property of Fotomeal or its licensors and are protected. Public data (e.g. Open Food Facts) remains subject to its respective licenses.
7. Availability and no warranty
The service is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability nor the accuracy of the estimates. We may change, suspend or discontinue all or part of the service.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Fotomeal cannot be held liable for indirect damages resulting from the use of, or inability to use, the app, nor for decisions made on the basis of the estimates provided.
9. Personal data
How your data is processed is described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to the Terms
We may modify these Terms. The “last updated” date above prevails. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Belgian law. Any dispute falls under the competent Belgian courts, subject to the mandatory consumer-protection rights that apply.
